CSR Reporting

“The research ACCSR undertook for us helped to validate our material sustainability issues. Their service was responsive and timely, and was undertaken with considerable regard for our stakeholders.”
Nancie-Lee Robinson, General Manager, Governance Integration & Reporting, Chief Sustainability Office, Telstra

Sustainability reporting is fast becoming mainstream practice for organisations that want to engage stakeholders, improve or maintain their reputation – or keep up with their competitors.

Reporters say that by better understanding their performance, they can drive improvements that support internal change. Stakeholders use sustainability reports to assess your organisation. Developments in the investment and governance sphere are also prompting more organisations to report on their non-financial risks to assure investors and maintain access to capital.

We work with you at all stages of your reporting, from planning and collecting data through to writing and editing. We’ll even assess your previous report and find out if it’s meeting your stakeholders’ needs. We have a wealth of experience in sustainability reporting and we have trained hundreds of people in how to produce a best practice sustainability report.

Our reporting services include:

  • Advice on using international frameworks like the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Integrated Reporting <IR>
  • Helping you to plan your report, including advice on what you need to include
  • Research into material issues
  • Support for data gathering
  • Writing and editing
  • Mentoring to build reporting capabilities in your staff
  • Pre-publication review
  • Training
  • Assurance (through our partner Bureau Veritas)
  • Supporting development of your submissions to DJSI, UNPRI, GRESB and NGERS

Materiality assessment: Your report needs to address the CSR issues that are most relevant for your business. How do you work out what they are? We help you to understand the issues of most significance in your value chain, using stakeholder input and analysis to help clarify priorities and link your issues to the reporting framework you choose to followRead our White Paper on Materiality here.

Planning and writing: A great report needs careful planning and execution. Our attention to detail and knowledge of international reporting frameworks will stand you in good stead. We work collaboratively to plan and develop your report and make it easier for you to produce a report that tells your sustainability story. Whether you want support and advice as you prepare your report in-house, or you need a reliable and knowledgeable partner to take the pressure off internal resources, ACCSR is there to help.

Review and audit:  Before you publish, we’ll conduct a detailed check of your report to ensure it meets the requirements of your chosen reporting framework. For full and independent assurance, we recommend Bureau Veritas, a global leader in sustainability report assurance. After you publish we will review your report to ensure it meets the needs of your stakeholders.

“We were really happy with the outcomes and the process that ACCSR used to review our Stakeholder Impact Report. We had excellent feedback about the process from both employees and external stakeholders. They said it really made a difference having someone who understood the subject matter and appreciated the nuances of key issues. ACCSR’s recommendations are practical and have informed our plans to further improve our Stakeholder Impact Report.”
